警察官採用試験は、各都道府県警察（47都道府県警察 + 警視庁、計48組織）が独立して実施する警察官採用試験。1次試験は教養試験（5択MCQ、約50問）+ 論作文試験（記述）+ 適性検査。2次試験は面接、身体検査、体力検査、口述試験。都道府県により多少の差異があるが、教養試験のMCQ部分は共通の構造を持つ。
