GMAT non pubblica un calendario annuale fisso con una singola data d'esame o una finestra di iscrizione unica. L'esame e prenotabile su appuntamento, online o presso test center, in base alla disponibilita locale. Struttura attuale: 64 domande in 2 ore e 15 minuti, con una pausa opzionale da 10 minuti; Quantitative Reasoning 21 domande/45 minuti, Verbal Reasoning 23 domande/45 minuti, Data Insights 20 domande/45 minuti. Il candidato puo scegliere l'ordine delle tre sezioni e usare Question Review & Edit dentro la sezione, con modifica fino a 3 risposte, ma non torna a sezioni gia concluse. Non risultano graduatorie, immatricolazioni o ricorsi centralizzati: ogni business school usa il GMAT secondo le proprie regole di ammissione.
