IMAT past papers: every official test from 2011 to 2026

These are the official IMAT papers published by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), from the first IMAT in 2011 to the IMAT 2026 of 29 September 2026. Download them for free. Keep in mind that the test changed: since 2023, 51 of the 60 questions are science, so the 2023-2026 papers are the closest to the IMAT you will take.

How the IMAT format changed over the years
Older papers are still useful for biology and chemistry, but the mix of questions was very different: early IMATs had far more logic and general knowledge.

Other years: structure not checked on the official decree. You can rebuild it by counting the questions per subject in each paper.
How to practise with IMAT past papers
- Start with 2023-2026. They have the same mix of questions as the IMAT you will take.
- Time yourself: 100 minutes, no breaks, on paper if you can: the real IMAT is on paper.
- Mark it like the real test: +1.5 right, -0.4 wrong, 0 blank. Write down your score out of 90.
- Use older papers by subject. Before 2023 there were more logic and general knowledge questions: use the biology and chemistry ones as extra practice.
- Review every mistake before the next paper, and note the topics that come back.

In the Ministry's PDFs for 2023 to 2026, the correct answer is always option A (on test day the options are shuffled). In the 2026 paper it is also highlighted in green. Cover the answers or shuffle them yourself before you start.
